Tonight I shed tears of despair

Of broken dreams and false hope

Of shattered life and regret

Of unanswered prayers and failures

Tonight I shed tears of sadness

Of undone promises and lies

Of bitter love and goodbyes

Of unworthy friends and backstabbers

Tonight I shed tears of surrender

Of unfair life and poverty

Of losing loved ones and loneliness

Of losing a battle and anger

Of doing everything yet no reward

Tonight I shed my last tear

Of grieving for the past

Of regretting for living

Of ending my suffering

Of not living but dying

They say writing poems is very easy. But for me, it is a challenge. It involves a lot of emotion, effort, and revision. It isn’t just stringing words and phrases together to make a thought. For me, every word should blend, every phrase has an emotion, every line has a thought, every verse has a message, and the whole poem is a person with life. I wrote this poem years ago, and I actually submitted this to an online site that claims to produce a song from it. But they asked 300 dollars to record it, so I withdraw the offer. Then recently, just last year, this was printed on a experimental magazine in our campus. However, I wasn’t even attributed as the author.

When you cry at night

And tears fall on your pillow

Do you feel the night embrace

Or rather darkness engulf you?

When you stare at the rain

Under the dark gray sky

Does it wash away your sorrow

Or it takes you away to misery?

When the sun is in the highest

It’s heat batter your skin

Do you see a heat of joy?

Or does it burn a hope?

When you laugh aloud

Talking and listening to jokes

Do you feel the happiness?

Or just mask the pain inside?

When you share your life

With friends and strangers

Do you feel their comfort?

Or do you still feel alone?

When you fear the worst

That everything seems to fall apart

Remember in your dire times

A voice will come to tell you…

I wrote this 4 years ago. It was supposed to be an entry for a writing competition. But I kept on revising it, because I thought it wasn’t good enough. I never submitted it. So now, I’ll just post it. I hope that it reaches a lot of people, I think it’s better than winning a competition.

Review: Careline Eyeshadow and Blusher Palette

Along with the Ever Bilena Advance Shine Free Makeup Foundation, I bought this set when I was starting to try makeup. I remember I bought this for a mock job interview for a Speech Communication class and our teacher was very meticulous on how we will present ourselves. So all of us had to really prepare for it, which also includes wearing makeup (for the girls). So I went to Watsons and headed directly to the first booth, which was Ever Bilena, and bought whatever was cheap.

Careline Eyeshadow and Blusher Palette. I had to blur the image on the mirror, sorry. The photo is mine.

Careline Eyeshadow and Blusher

Includes a mirror.

Two blush shades: Red and Baby Pink

8 eyeshadow shades: Icy Blue, Dark (Almost Navy) Blue, Black, Red, Neutral, Light Brown, Matte Brown, Shiny Brown

A double-end small brush with sponge-tip applicator

What I love about it:

The product doesn’t come off easily. For a cheap makeup set, it really has good quality. The eye shadow stays on the eyelid for hours, and it doesn’t melt even on mild hot days.

I like the colors. They are perfect for school, work, or everyday makeup, and you can also use it for special occasions. They are suited for beginners who are starting to experiment with simple looks.

Travel ready. It fits into my pouch, and because it has 8 eye shadows and 2 blush colors I don’t need to bring other necessary kits anymore.

What I dislike:

You need a good brush to get an enough amount of eye shadow. Otherwise, you have to repeatedly apply the product to get the precise color on your lid.

The brush included in the kit is useless, or I mean I don’t recommend it for you to use. I really can’t work with small brushes, and I have a problem with the quality of the brush.

Most of the eye shadows are matte, so if you want to add depth or highlighter you need a different set.
